When calling in to one of our phone communities an important aspect of everyday communication is missing from your exchange and that’s body language. Body language can include our facial expressions, gestures and posture and it provides a big clue as to what we are really saying when we say it.

How You Say It
How You Say It

It’s a great way to judge meaning in a face-to-face conversation, but over the phone we really can’t judge what a person’s body is doing. Then again, in a sexy phone chat we can let our imagination run wild as to what their body is doing, but I digress.

The reason I bring up body language, or lack there of is because when you are engaged in a phone call, be it a group room or a private one on one session, how we use our voice and how we say things becomes incredibly important. Think about how you say something and consider the tone of your voice. If you want to be sexy, you may lover your voice or use a teasing intonation to what you are saying. Another piece of the communication puzzle to be aware of is why you say something. If you are in a casual conversation, you may just be shooting the breeze and talking. But if you are in sexy phone call, you may be saying what you are saying to turn your partner on or relay a fantasy that you would like to indulge in. Also, it’s important to think about when you say what you say. If there is a heated debate going on about who should make it to Superbowl LII, you may not want to interject your feelings on what Kanye and Kim should name their new baby daughter.

It’s important to remember good communication skills when phoning in to our community. In today’s day and age, good phone communication can take a little bit of practice, since many of the old school “phone conversations” have been replaced by text messages. This may be especially true if you are of the Millennial Generation. Gen-X’ers and Baby Boomers can still rock a solid phone call but adults in the 18-34 year old range have long relied on texts and email for most of their communication. But just like Justin Timberlake brought “sexy” back we are bringing good “phone” back. So call in and get ready to party with other likeminded individuals as we bring the art of the phone call back!
