We love blogging about conversation starters because they are a very important part of having an active and engaging phone community. Now granted, we are very lucky because many of the social butterflies in our community hardly ever find themselves at a lack for words, but there may on occasion be a time that you enter a room that isn’t hopping yet.
Now it’s up to you to get the conversation started! We’ve posted many sexy ways to get a conversation going but maybe you are in the mood for a really good lighthearted conversation instead of a naughty phone session. In this instance, we’d like to give you a few ideas on how to get a good conversation started. And trust us, the more you do this and the more you practice, the easier small talk will come to you! Good communication is a skill that comes naturally to some but others may need to hone their skills a bit. But if you keep calling in and keep talking, you will soon be the life of every party that you go to!
So instead of the routine how are you, how was your day, what do you do for work or how was your weekend, we can spice these questions up a bit. And if we are being honest, when we ask someone how they are our mind is often thinking about another topic rather than listening because “how are you” is such a rote question that we ask. So instead of that, next time you meet someone ask them to tell you about an adventure they would like to go on. Maybe they want to visit Paris or travel cross-country in an RV. Another fun question to ask people is if they could teleport anywhere, where would they go? Or how about putting someone on the spot to pitch you an idea for a movie? Or ask them to tell you a funny thing they did as a child. Then there are the fun ones like, “who would play you in the movie of your life” or “what song lyrics really resonate with who you think you are as a person”. You’d be surprised where these simple little conversation starters can take you.
As always, we can go on and one here with millions of fun questions to get the conversation started, but the main take away here is to think outside the box. Dream up what you would like to know about your phone friends and put it out there!
